Tips To Prepare for your Boudoir Session
Give those hands and feet some LOVE.
Did you know that your hands and feet will be visible in most of your boudoir portraits? So…it’s important to be camera ready to make the most of your session. Consider pampering yourself with a mani-pedi a few days before your boudoir shoot day.
Raise your hand if you forget to eat when you’re nervous, anxious or excited.
No matter what time your boudoir session is, you should make sure you have a reasonable meal beforehand. Don’t starve yourself! You’ll need to keep your energy up to make your photos as beautiful as they can be. Seriously, I always say these sessions are kind of like Boudoir Yoga. LoL
At the same time, don’t eat a heavy meal right before we meet, either. It can make you feel bloated, overfull or uncomfortable… and that’s not the best way to feel your best about your body.
We always have water and snacks at the studio for you as well!
MEASURE EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU ORDER LINGERIE ONLINE.
If you are ordering lingerie online for the first time, taking all your measurements before you order anything will save you 4 + weeks of your life. No lingerie vendor measures the same. Sizes that fit from one shop will not fit from another. It’s truly brutal if you don’t master this adventure. You can only find so much local. If you want some really sexy couture from shops like Etsy or luxury beauties from shops like Thistle and Spire or, Bluebella – you are going to be able to measure and order once like a pro. It will feel great to cut open that box and know that it fits because you took the extra time to take your measurements before you dropped your order. Don’t guess. Measure. If you don’t have a soft measuring tape, you can easily find one in the fabric department of any department store like JoAnn’s, Hobby Lobby or pick one up next time you are in a Wal-Mart. Measuring saves time and with this skill you can get anything right the first time.
GET SOME EXTRA SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SESSION.
I know that’s easier said than done, but getting a regular night’s sleep will be such a benefit to your
boudoir session. You will awake refreshed. You will not have puffy eyes. You will not have red
sleepless eyes. Getting the extra sleep is not all physical, you need that rest to be able to fully enjoy
the day that YOU are treating yourself to. You don’t want to be too exhausted to have fun, we’ve all
been there – remember that Christmas Morning that you were up helping Santa build toys until
3am? That next early morning was hard. Don’t do that to yourself for this big day. You’ve planned
out every detail. There is nothing left to do except anticipate all the fun you are going to have. Put
your bag in your car or next to the door before you go to sleep and in the morning, grab breakfast
and just go
